Editorial Policy: How We Check Facts and Screen Jobs
Educational information, not financial, tax or legal advice. Pay figures are published medians and employer postings, not a promise of what you will earn. Read our disclaimer.
This page explains how every guide on HowToMakeMoneyFromHome.online is researched, checked and kept current, and how the daily remote job listings are collected and screened. If a page ever falls short of these rules, please tell us.
Every number needs a named source
Pay rates, fees, legal rules, age limits and statistics on this site come from the organisation accountable for them:
- Pay data: the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (Occupational Outlook Handbook and Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics), quoted exactly with the survey year.
- Laws and taxes: the Department of Labor, the IRS, the Small Business Administration, studentaid.gov and USCIS.
- Scams: the Federal Trade Commission and the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center.
- Companies and platforms: the company's own careers, help or fee page, with the date it was read.
If a number cannot be traced to a source like these, it does not appear. We do not publish "average earnings" that nobody measured, and we treat phrases like "experts say" or "users report" as a reason to keep digging, not as evidence.
Our own data
Some figures are our own measurements, and they are labelled that way. Each morning the site counts the remote job listings open to US workers on Himalayas and Jobicy, and reports simple statistics: how many listings, how many hire only in the US, how many state a wage, and the median of the posted pay ranges. These numbers describe what employers advertised that day — not what any individual will be paid — and every chart says what was counted and when.
How the job listings are screened
Listings are shown only if they are open to US workers, were posted within the last 30 days, have not expired, and name an employer. Titles that match common scam patterns — promises of daily pay, "no interview", crypto or forex work, commission-only roles — are removed automatically. We also exclude commission-only insurance-agent recruiting and home-based travel-agent ("vacation booker") programs, which commonly ask recruits to pay for licensing, leads or memberships.
Automatic screening cannot catch everything. Every listing links to its source job board, and our scam checker explains how to verify any offer before you share personal information.
How AI is used
Articles on this site are researched with AI assistance and edited by Sukie before publication. AI tools help gather sources, organise research and draft text. Every fact in a draft is then checked against its source, unsupported claims are removed, and the page is edited for accuracy and usefulness before it goes live. AI is never used to invent experiences, testimonials, case studies or statistics.
Independence
No company pays to appear in our listings, our company directory or our guides, and the site carries no affiliate links. Advertising is placed automatically by an ad network and does not influence what we write. A company appearing in our directory means its careers page described remote roles when we checked it — not that we endorse it or that it is hiring today.
Updates and corrections
Each page shows the date it was last updated. Pages are reviewed at least once a year, and sooner when a source changes — a platform raising its fees, a company closing a program, a new government figure. When we correct an error we fix the page and update its date. To report a problem, email sukielovesupport@gmail.com with the page address and a link to the correct information.
